How to Use BooksAroundUs

Step 1: Find a Book: Scroll through the homepage or use the filters to search by Title, Author, or Age Group.
Step 2: Request the Book: Click a book, then click the "Request Book" button. If it's unavailable, join the Waitlist!
Step 3: Check Your Dashboard: Click the "My Dashboard" button in the header to see your request. It will be in the "My Borrows" tab, marked as 'Pending'.
Step 4: Coordinate Pickup: When the owner approves, you'll see a red notification dot on your Dashboard button. The status will change to 'Approved'. You can now use the "Open Chat" button to arrange a pickup time.
Step 5: Confirm You Have It: After you pick up the book, go to your Dashboard and click "Confirm Collection". This sets the 7-day due date.
Step 6: Return the Book: When you're done, physically return the book. Then, go to your Dashboard and click "Mark as Returned".
Step 7: All Done! The owner will confirm they have the book back. You can then give the lender a star rating.

Step 1: List Your Book: Click the "List Your Books" button in the header. You can manually type details or scan the ISBN using your camera!
Step 2: Wait for a Request: When someone requests your book, you'll see a red notification dot on your "My Dashboard" button.
Step 3: Approve or Decline: Go to "My Dashboard" and check the "My Lends" tab. You can "Approve" or "Decline" the request.
Step 4: Confirm the Return: After the borrower returns your book, they will mark it as 'Returned'. You will get one last notification. Go to your Dashboard and click "Confirm Return Received".
Step 5: All Done! The transaction is now complete, and you can rate the borrower.

Waitlist: If a book is gone, join the waitlist. We'll alert you when it's back!
Invite Neighbors: Use the button in the header to quickly onboard your neighbors.
My Profile: Keep your contact info up to date and see your stats.
